This stainless steel wrench was specifically and ergonomically designed by the BASIC Company for the Omni-Tight™ implant system. The small arrows or humps seen near the ratchet mechanism indicate clockwise or counter clockwise rotation direction. The implant is placed via the driver using clockwise rotation and is removed by the opposite rotation. The wrench is engineered to engage the driver already secure to the implant recess hex and with ratchet action, drive the implant into its final seated position as dictated by the pilot hole length and direct observation of the implant top and the surrounding mucosal hole made by the tissue trephine. There should be moderate finger pressure applied to the top of the ratchet-driver interface to help facilitate seating "pull down" of the implant into the softer cancellus bone and then into the denser cortical layer for final physical fixation and stability so that an immediate impression can be taken. Osseointegration may now begin without movement or pressure.
